Nature Walk at the River

A few weekends ago, we went hiking at a river. We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed watching the water while we ate. It was a little disappointing because the signs said not to even touch the water because it was flowing at a rapid rate. The girls enjoyed throwing rocks into the water, but wished that they could touch it!

We then went hiking in the woods. How fun!! One neat part about the hike was seeing an old homestead. We have been watching Little House on the Prairie and also studying archaeology in their history work, so it was fun to see an old homestead!
Some of the paths were not paved, but were gravel. Boy it was fun trying to push a stroller through that! Good exercise though!

  1. Sounds like y'all had a wonderful outing! Jason and I went to the Abilene State Park and hiked some trails the other day. It's good to get out in God's creation.
As a child I was obsessed with Little House on the Prairie. I read all the books and watched the TV show. It's such a wholesome series.
